Within the Methodist Healthcare system, the Outpatient Rehabilitation team operates with the goal of helping adult and pediatric patients achieve functional independence and improve the quality of their lives. We build on small successes, thus creating a solid foundation that helps maximize function.

Therapy begins with a careful assessment of each patient’s situation, including careful consideration of many factors such as overall strength and health of the patient, severity of injury, type of surgery, and other medical conditions influencing the patient's potential. The team motivates the patient while teaching ways to accomplish familiar tasks; patients are able to perform daily acts of living - walking, dressing, eating, homemaking - independently or with minimal assistance in their homes and communities.
