Our Rehabilitation Team – A Synergy of Specialists

The heart of our rehabilitation process is a team of specialists who focus on the unique needs of each patient. Our rehabilitation team works together to achieve the highest level of independence and the most meaningful and productive life possible.

Physical Therapists
 
David Enriquez, MPT
Staff Physical Therapist (Adult)
David attended the University of Texas El Paso before entering the Master's Physical Therapy program at Texas Tech Health Science Center. He earned a Master's degree from Texas Tech University along with a massage therapy certification from Odessa College in 2001, and his area of specialty is adult orthopedics. David has been working at Methodist since 2002, spreading his talents between the Outpatient Rehab Clinic and Main Methodist Hospital. During his spare time, David volunteers with the Big Brother Association and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoys weight training, is a great basketball player and an even better salsa dancer. Michelle Fuentes, MPT
Staff Physical Therapist (Pediatric)
Michelle is a pediatric P.T. who got her start working with children with special needs as a volunteer at Camp CAMP. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development & Family Sciences from the University of Texas, and she completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Texas State University in 2009. Michelle first treated patients at Methodist Outpatient Rehab as a physical therapy student, working under the supervision of one of our staff therapists. Michelle was so impressive that she was asked to join the clinic as a staff member when she completed her degree. Michelle's activities away from work include camping and watching the Spurs.
 
Elaine Garza, MPT
Staff Physical Therapist (Pediatric)
Elaine has a bachelor's degree from Baylor University and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Southwest Texas State University. She has worked in the Methodist Healthcare System since 2005, and specializes in pediatrics. Elaine is able to help children of all ages and with a variety of diagnoses, including orthopedic problems, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Down Syndrome, clubfoot, and many more. When she's not treating patients, Elaine enjoys going to concerts and traveling. Se habla espanol.
 
Sarah Luna, PT, DPT
Rehab Manager and Physical Therapist (Adult)
Sarah earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University in 2001. She went on to earn a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2004 from Regis University in Denver, CO. Sarah came to Methodist Hospital as a new graduate in 2004 and moved into a supervisory role in 2007. She manages the Inpatient Rehab Unit at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital and the Methodist Outpatient Rehab Clinic in the medical center. Sarah has a special interest in working with adults with balance problems, orthopedic injuries, and TMJ dysfunctions. When she is not at work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, camping, golfing, and just about anything outdoors.
 
Lourdes Rodriguez, MPT
Staff Physical Therapist (Adult and older Pediatric)
Lourdes is a San Antonio native and a graduate of Taft High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Spanish in 2002 and a Master's degree in Physical Therapy in 2005, both from Texas Tech University. Lourdes joined the Methodist Healthcare team in 2006. Lourdes enjoys working with patients with orthopedic and neurological diagnoses, and she has a special interest in balance training for adults who are at risk for falls and Women's Health issues, especially back and pelvic pain during pregnancy. Lourdes's interests outside of work include yoga, soccer, running marathons, international travel, and most importantly, shopping. Se habla espanol.
 
Irasema Thiele, MPT
Staff Physical Therapist (Adult)
Irasema is a 1996 graduate of the Master of Physical Therapy program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Health Care Sciences, also from UTMB. Irasema's experience includes both inpatient and outpatient settings, working with patients with orthopedic and neuromuscular diagnoses, and she has had advanced training in shoulder rehab. Like David Enriquez, Irasema splits her time between the outpatient clinic and Main Methodist Hospital. When Irasema is away from work, she enjoys reading and gardening. Se habla espanol.

Joshua Catlett, OTR/L
Staff Occupational Therapist (Pediatric and Adult)
Josh joined Methodist Outpatient Rehab early in 2009 with the desire to treat both adults and children. Josh completed a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Murray State University in 2004, where he played Division I football and was a four-year starter. He then went on to complete a Master's degree in Sports Psychology at Murray State, finishing in 2006. Josh's second Master's degree is in Occupational Therapy, and he is a 2008 graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison, WI. His next professional goal is to be a Certified Hand Therapist. When he's not at work, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and son, watching movies, football, and basketball, and he wants to start playing more golf.
 
Speech Therapists
 
Nikki Bott
Speech Pathologist Intern (Pediatric)
Nikki is a 2007 graduate of the University of Houston - Main Campus, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders. She completed her Master's degree in Communication Disorders at Texas State University - San Marcos in 2010 and joined Methodist Outpatient Rehab the same year. Nikki has worked closely with experienced Speech-Language Pathologists, and she is a wonderful addition to the clinic.
 
Loren Granstaff, MS, CCC/SLP
Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (Adult)
Loren received an undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2007, and she went on to earn a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the same institution. Loren first came to Methodist Healthcare as a speech-language pathology student. She worked with one of our experienced speech therapists during her rotation, and the therapist was so impressed with Loren's skills and character that she heavily recruited Loren to join the Methodist Rehab Department upon graduation. Loren specializes in working with adults with feeding and language disorders, and she has a special gift for connecting with her patients
 
Angela Haynes, SLP-CCC
Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (Pediatric and Adult)
Angela is a 1990 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She continued her education at the University of Texas at Dallas, completing a Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 1992. Angela works with both children and adults, and she specializes in working with adults with neurogenic communication and feeding disorders, and children with feeding difficulties. She is certified to provide Vital Stim treatment as well was Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation (DPNS). Angela has been a leader in the AWANA program since 1999, and she serves her church community as a Sunday School teacher. When Angela has free time, she enjoys running, cooking and reading.
 
Darcy McConnell, SLP-CCC
Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (Pediatric and Adult)
Darcy has been a speech therapist since 2005. She completed a bachelor's degree in history at Trinity University in 1998, and received a master's degree in communication disorders from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2005. Darcy specializes in pediatric dysphagia (problems with swallowing), oral-motor and feeding aversion. She is certified to provide Vital-Stim treatment. Darcy splits her time between the outpatient rehab clinic and Methodist Children's Hospital.

Linda Carroll
Office Manager
Linda has worked in Outpatient Rehab for Methodist Healthcare since 1990. She has been with the clinic through multiple changes in location and staff, and her knowledge of insurance information seems endless. Linda does many hours of "behind-the-scenes" work for our patients. She spends time on the phone with insurance companies and physician offices to make sure that all of the required paperwork and authorizations are in place for therapy to be covered by insurance. Linda also has an artistic side, and she usually has a craft project in progress at home.
 
Maria Garcia
Receptionist
Maria is a full time student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, working toward an undergraduate degree in psychology. She anticipates graduating in May of 2011, and plans to attend physical therapy school with the hope of becoming a pediatric physical therapist. Maria splits her talents between the front desk at the Outpatient Rehab Clinic, and assisting therapists at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital as a Rehab Tech. Maria brings high standards for customer service to the clinic from her 10 years of experience in sales, marketing and event planning in the hotel industry.
 
Warrin Witten
Receptionist
Warrin is a full-time student at St. Mary's University working toward an undergraduate degree in biology. She will graduate in May 2011, and she plans to attend dental school afterward. Ultimately, her goal is to be an orthodontist. Warrin is no stranger to the rehab world: her father is a physical therapist.
